Dr Geoff Scott MD FRCP FRCPath DTM&H (Trustee 2002-> Chairman 2004->), is a Consultant Microbiologist at University College London Hospitals. He trained at the Royal Free Hospital, School of Medicine, qualifying in 1972. He has developed interests in many fields of infection ranging from the early development of interferon to the development of antimicrobial resistance. He works with the haematologists in the management of susceptible leukaemic patients. |

| Emeritus Professor A.P.J. Trinci (Trustee 2005->) Tony Trinci obtained BSc, PhD and DSc degrees from the University of Durham and was latterly Professor, Pro Vice Chancellor for Research & Graduate Education and Dean of the School of Biological Sciences, all at the University of Manchester. He is a past President of both the Society for General Microbiology and the British Mycological Society. Currently, he is a Governor of the BBSRC Institute for Grassland & Environmental Research (IGER), Aquinas Sixth-Form College, Bramhall High School and Ladybrook Primary School. His research interests include the evolution of the Quorn myco-protein fungus in continuous flow culture, the production of recombinant proteins by fungi in fermenter culture, the modes of action antifungals, and the role of anaerobic fungi in the digestion of plant material in the rumen of herbivores. |
Dr Caroline Pankhurst BSc PhD BDS MSC MRCPath (Specialist in Oral Microbiology. Trustee 2009->) is a dentist and was a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Oral Microbiology at King’s College London Dental Institute. Now she is actively involved in postgraduate dental education and training in dental microbiology and oral medicine. She contributes the chapter “Treatment of oropharyngeal candidiasis” to BMJ Clinical Evidence. |
